Procrastination is the thief of time. – Edward Young

As I was starting to write this entry I was trying to remember a Jim Rohn quote in reference to that we all have the same number of hours in a day. So blaming not getting to things on a lack of time is bogus. That’s not how the quote goes and I’m not even sure if it’s Jim Rohn – it might be Zig Ziglar …. But I digress – as I did when I tried to find the actual quote.
I’ve got a collection of over 7000 quotes now– I wonder why I didn’t look there first instead I went searching on the internet. Before I knew it 2 hours were gone and I had come across numerous wonderful quotes to add to my collection. I need the quotes for another project so is this procrastination? Probably since I haven’t gotten my workout in or the other couple things I wanted to get done this morning.
What is it that makes some people more productive than others? What is it that makes some days more productive then others? Why is it so easy to procrastinate some days – but other days things get knocked off the to-do list like crazy?
For me I find it has to do with how urgent getting the task done is. I need to figure out how to create that urgent sense so I can get to my want to list instead of allows working at the must do list. And in some way – maybe this procrastination is doing of few want to do’s with the must do’s.
When do you find procrastination a healthy diversion? When is it just a thief of time?
